About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to lead and scale Italian luxury merchants on a cross-border e-commerce marketplace platform. This role focuses on merchant incubation, tiered account management, assortment strategy, and sustainable GMV growth, with close collaboration across product, BI, and operations teams.

Candidates must be high level Chinese with full professional Italian and English proficiency to bridge European merchants and marketplace operations.

This role is specifically focused on the luxury categories of:

  • Clothes / Apparel: luxury ready-to-wear, outerwear, dresses, jackets, suits
  • Shoes / Footwear: luxury shoes, sneakers, boots, limited-edition footwear
  • Bags / Leather Goods: handbags, totes, backpacks, crossbody bags, travel and lifestyle bags

Jewelry, watches, and unrelated categories are excluded.

What You'll Do
  • 1. Merchant Segmentation & Growth Management
    • Deep understanding of the European luxury industry with proven experience in merchant incubation and lifecycle management on marketplace platforms.
    • Establish and execute tiered merchant management strategies (KA / PKA / long-tail sellers), with visibility into sellers assortment structures and supply capabilities.
    • Design and optimize growth pathways for key accounts, providing customized enablement plans and ongoing performance optimization.
    2. Marketplace & Cross-border Operations
    • Strong familiarity with cross-border luxury marketplace operations, including onboarding, compliance, logistics, and post-launch management.
    • Define tailored business objectives and growth targets for different merchant types based on platform positioning and business model.
    • Support merchants in resolving operational issues and drive assortment expansion and sales growth within marketplace ecosystems.
    3. Market & Competitive Intelligence
    • Monitor competitive marketplaces and market dynamics, analyzing best-selling categories and emerging trends.
    • Identify growth opportunities and translate insights into actionable merchant strategies across clothes, shoes, and bags.
    4. Assortment & Trend Enablement
    • Maintain strong awareness of marketplace luxury trends and leverage historical product data to enhance trend forecasting.
    • Understand the structure of new arrivals, hero SKUs, and clearance inventory from European suppliers targeting cross-border marketplaces.
    • Empower merchant decision-making with data-driven insights on clothes, shoes, and bags.
    5. Cross-functional Collaboration & Scale Optimization
    • Partner closely with Product, BI, and other teams to identify scalable, automated solutions to operational challenges.
    • Translate merchant and operational needs into product or process optimization proposals, improving merchant and customer experience on the marketplace.

What Were Looking For
  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelors degree or above.
    • 3+ years of experience in e-commerce or marketplace operations, preferably with luxury merchants in clothes, shoes, or bags.
    Language & Regional Expertise
    • High level Chinese, fluent English.
    • Business-level Italian (commercial negotiation proficiency required).
    • Prior work experience in Europe and strong familiarity with European luxury and fashion culture are strong advantages.
    Analytical & Strategic Capability
    • Highly structured thinker with strong curiosity and deep problem-solving ability.
    • Proven ability to drive data-driven decision-making, including successful 0-to-1 project experience.
    • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
    Execution & Stakeholder Management
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with strong ownership mindset.
    • Excellent communication skills, project management capability, and cross-functional coordination experience.
    • Ability to independently drive initiatives from strategy through execution.
    Data & Tool Proficiency
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills required (functions, pivot tables, etc.).
    • Strong sensitivity to luxury market and marketplace data, with the ability to generate insights and present findings effectively.
